Carla Alvarado

Carla Alvarado earned an MPH (2007) from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Public Health in the area of management, policy and community health with a concentration in international and global health. She is currently in her third year as a public health policy doctoral student at Oregon State University. Her research while at OSU has ranged from health disparities research, to health system reform, health system strengthening, healthcare tool evaluation and healthcare organization and delivery mechanisms. Prior to the pursuit of the doctoral degree, Ms. Alvarado worked for three years at a local department of public health in Texas where her work as the public health community liaison ranged from public health preparedness, to health education, workforce development and the conceptualization and implementation of special projects.
